100 Thieves Hiko Has Retired From Competitive Gaming

Hiko will move to a full-time content creator for 100T

100T Captain, Spencer “Hiko” Martin, has announced his retirement from competitive VALORANT. Hiko is one of the most famous VALORANT players in North America and has been with 100 Thieves since the organization entered the game, in June 2020.

The 32 year-old had an incredible history in CS:GO for his individual performances, even though he wasn't able to secure a Major trophy. When VALORANT was first released, CS:GO pro players including ScreaM, TenZ, Wardell and nitr0 flocked to the game in a bid to reinvent their careers.

Among the most high-profile moves was that of Hiko, who left an illustrious Counter Strike career behind to pursue a new one in Riot’s FPS. Months later, Hiko lead 100 Thieves to their first-ever VALORANT championship and be a top team in the scene.

In March 2022, Hiko revealed that, while he has had "less-than-positive" experiences in the past of organizations having complete control over rosters, he gave his backing to 100 Thieves’ plan.

While this season wasn't what the team had hoped for, Hiko maintain a high level of play to cap off an amazing 14-year competitive career.

Hiko will remain a full time content creator for 100 Thieves and the org plans to sign SoaR's Brenden “stellar” McGrath, and Rise player Derrek Ha, according to a report by Dot Esports.
