There are just so many things wrong with the game
The release of Battlefield 2042 was highly anticipated, but the excitement hasn't lived up to the hype. So bad that after about a few months of its release a petition with over 200,000 signatures to refund players on change.org was created.
Battlefield is known for its large maps and crowed war zones; but as for 2042, the organization of the game felt discombobulated. The game sold for $70 during its release back in November 2021. According to consumer reports, the developers of the game DICE and Electronic Arts failed to keep promises they made at launch, and Battlefield 2042 was launched as unplayable.
The community is upset with its poor performance and so poor that Steam even allowed players to get a full refund on the game. You can sign the petition here: https://www.change.org/p/sony-allow-refund-for-battlefield-2042-on-all-platforms
Bugs, glitches , and poor performance. How is the Battlefield franchise going to bounce back from this? Call of Duty Warzone may soon replace and take over the large mapped gameplay.
The next Battlefield has entered pre-production, and according to a Gamespot report, "developer DICE has learned valuable lessons from Battlefield 2042 and will no longer be using the game as the new foundation for the long-running FPS franchise." As the next game enters pre-production, DICE still plans on supporting 2042. It's going to be a while before the next release of a new Battlefield, maybe over the course of development the game may showcase better features and gameplay.
