The Story of MATTYKAY
MATTYKAY (Matthew King) is a TikTok creator covering technology and video games with over 1.2 million followers. He focus on various tech and gaming products with the goal to highlight new and interesting products as well as show them in practical sense.
Back in December 2020, Matthew King was was stuck at home due to COVID-19 when the idea hit him to start making videos. "I already had a cool room with flashy lights, so I figured I’d give it a shot" After his first posted 4 videos and they blew up big time. Skip forward to today and I am still cranking out videos!
What is your all time favorite piece of tech?
That is a tough question to answer! I think lighting as a whole might be my favorite “tech” type product. I love the way that lights can completely change the look of a room or video that I am creating.
Where do you see yourself in the next 5 years?
In 5 years, I hope to be creating content that I love to make. I hope that I am still having just as much fun with it in 5 years as I am today.
Tips for new creators
Absolutely! I would say to really focus on quality over quantity. So many creators want to create 3-4 average videos everyday just to post something. While that might work for some creators, it is a very small percentage. Try to create content that you would enjoy watching yourself and do it at a high quality. Doing that will make it so much more fun to do!
What is a brand you aspire to work with?
I would love the opportunity to work with a camera company such as Canon or Sony. I think being able to create content with a variety of cameras would be super exciting and would definitely put a fun twist on my videos.
What is your favorite project / video you've made?
So far, I have had the most fun with the Samsung 49” Neo G9 video series. That monitor was an absolute beast and creating videos on it was so much fun to do!
