A bigger name doesn't necessarily mean a better product.
Phillips Hue and GOVEE have been around for quite some time now, both offering quality lighting products for consumers to use. If you were in the market for new lights, what would make you pick one brand over the other?
Phillips Hue
Phillips Hue has a variety of products that they offer, most being fully controlled by the HUE app on your smartphone. Their app is smooth, and the lights look great, but what’s the catch? The main drawback has to be pricing. For the average tech consumer, Phillips Hue products are on the more expensive end of the spectrum. Their standard “Play Gradient Lightstrip” comes in at a whopping $279. Compare that to a very similar “GOVEE Neon Rope Light” it costs $210 more and is nearly identical. It appears that you are paying for the name recognition over a quality boost.
GOVEE
GOVEE products are bright and plentiful. With over 20 products to choose from, GOVEE wants every spot in your home to be unique. They also offer an app for your smartphone to fully control and customize each light in your home.
When it comes to pricing, GOVEE products are offered at a fraction of the cost of some of their competitors. To put it in perspective, you could buy the same GOVEE Neon Rope Light 4x with the same amount of money needed for the Phillips Hue Play Gradient Lightstrip.
Personal Preference
In my experience with lights, more has always been better. That being said, I can purchase more GOVEE products than Phillips Hue ones at just about any given price point. In my opinion, GOVEE is the breadwinner of this bunch.
