Epic Games has taken another leap in the PC gaming market. Along with the launch Riot's new Netflix series Arcane, they have partnered with Epic to add a Jinx skin to Fortnite and bring its whole PC library to the Epic Games Store.
Mobile aside, this is the first time League of Legends and VALORANT have shown up on another PC storefront. All games will still be available through Riot Games directly, but this gives Epic some more momentum in the marketplace race against Steam. Valve’s platform has a strong grip on the PC gaming market, representing 18% PC game of sales in 2017.
"Riot Games is one of the world’s best developers and creators of groundbreaking entertainment franchises. We’re excited they’ve chosen to partner with us to bring their titles to millions of new players through the Epic Games Store," said, Epic Games Store VP, Steve Allison.
Expect to hear more from both parties given this is a first for Riot.
Riot's games that are live on the Epic Store now: League of Legends, Legends of Runeterra, Teamfight Tactics, and Valorant.
